Go to most webmaster forums and you’ll always find ‘snooty’ writers discounting the whole idea of PLR articles. True, in many cases, PLR articles leave much to be desired but it all boils down to how you perceive them. No, it would be very unfair indeed to compare apples with oranges – or maybe apples and oranges with a couple of peanuts - which is what this kind of comparison tends to do. How on earth can you compare something that costs upwards of $10 to something that costs pennies?
Can I hear a snigger? Most erstwhile writers will scoff at the very idea of a comparison. I fully agree. The twain should never meet. Both have their place in the great big world of the WWW and it is perhaps time for both to co-exist in their own levels without being compared or looked down upon. So without further ado, let me tell you why I think PLR articles are perhaps the best think that happened in a virtual world that is ever-hungry for that magic cyber manna – CONTENT!
What you need to alter when you look at PLR articles is your perception. Here you are paying anything from $20 to $75 a month for a few hundred articles. (Well, you even have some of them giving away PLR articles for free now!) So what if some of them don’t quite come up to expectations? (If all of them don’t, you have the option of going to someone who you know will do better by you!) Now what you need to do is to look at these articles as ‘raw material’. That’s what they are meant to be. Forget the form and look only for the content. Then pick the ones you want out of the heap and rewrite them. What you are doing basically, is to give them a better ‘form’ while keeping the ‘content’ the same. Of course, you will be making your article that much better if you were to add some more relevant content to it.
If you want to be in the cyber rat race, you need content. So don’t knock those PLR articles. Take them and groom them so they become worthy of your web sites. And don’t sit on your high horse and sneer at them either. Accept them for what they are – raw material for you to shape, embellish and display. Think of the many man hours and the amount of money you save and suddenly you find yourself looking at them with new eyes.
