Quality is the Matchless Preference
Last month Google said it loud and clear when they made one of the biggest algorithm adjustments ever...EXCELLENCE IS THE SINGULAR CHOICE.
For us, at Article Storehouse, the answer to that was "Duh!"
From the time we first launched ArticleStorehouse.com in May of 2009 that has been our one and ONLY mantra. Unfortunately, despite our undying commitment to quality we became an interim causality of war, so to speak, in Google's battle. With the change we have seen our rankings drop by about 33% over the last 30 days. It was much worse when the change first took place and thankfully our three-month average is actually up 2% as I write this.
Was it fair to quality article directories such as ours? NO. Was it necessary to empty the "cyber garbage", as I call it, out there? YES.
With the vast array of choices, information and scripts available on the Internet today anyone and their uncle have been able to start an article directory and establish themselves as both article writers and article publishers intent on entering the perceived world of article marketing with no accountability or conscience. WRONG!
With article publishing comes both an automatic and implied responsibility to publish quality content that people actually want and enjoy reading. Was this being done with all the pseudo would be kings-of-article-publishing? ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Humans and human nature being what they so sadly often are, a great majority of these "publishers" were looking for a quick buck and supposed fast track to the perceived social-status-world of being a media mogul. In their haste they forgot one very important and key aspect of the content publishing world...quality content is king...now let me repeat this because we have all heard that "content is king" but the absolute truth is quality content is king. Not to mention...hold on...it is hard work to accomplish this.
As such these directories have been willing to publish anything that moves across the keyboard of a computer.
The primary reason for writing articles of course is to generate an interest in ones products, niche or service. By publishing to article directories it allows the author to "get the word out" by having their published articles indexed in the search engines.
So, let's say someone searching for; "how to write quality articles" would come across an article that was written by the owner of a website or blog who teaches the fundamentals of writing quality articles. If the article is a high quality, well written piece full of valuable information presented in a clear, easy to understand manner, the reader may naturally read to the end of the article where the author has their Resource Box wherein they have a link to their website or blog.
Because the article was well written the reader will quite possibly be inclined to click the link to go the authors site for more valuable information and viola! the author most probably has a new customer who may purchase his quality eBooks or other article writing and marketing information that he or she offers for sale on the site or blog.
This is all because the author took the time and gave the thought to writing a quality article and getting it published on a quality article directory. In addition, people who know the reputation of a quality article directory go back to that directory time and time again to seek quality content to publish on their own sites, which provides even more exposure to the author of a good article when others publish their work.
However, what was being done and still is from what I have observed, is that supposed "article writers" write low quality articles full of grammar and spelling errors, are not well thought out or researched, and they use what is called "article spinning" software to create multiple or "spun" variations (sometimes dozens) of the article which substitutes words with the same or similar meanings automatically from a thesaurus. The problem is that the substitution has no human common sense attached to it so what is produced is garbled, unreadable nonsense; "cyber garbage". AND the hundreds of low quality article directories out there whose only goal is to get the largest number of articles published and indexed on their directory ACTUALLY PUBLISH THIS GARBAGE with no human editing or review!
So what ends up occurring is hundreds of the same article with minor poor variations were published so that when someone is searching for quality information and content they run up against all this crap in a Google search that they have to weed through in disgust to try to find the few nuggets of quality information.
Google's responsibly is to provide quality search results to the users of their search engine so they can get to the good stuff right away and not complain about the poor quality results that are being delivered, which is exactly what was happening. SO Google decided to empty the trash...big time, and it turned the world of content publishing upside down for the time being.
Well poor quality content is NOT what we have ever been about. Article Storehouse publishes only quality content that is either submitted to us by high quality article submission partners, which is carefully screened and trusted, or directly submitted from quality authors. We publish top quality articles, from accomplished authors, so you can feel confident in finding great content for your own websites and blogs.
We do publish articles that have had highly articulated, human accomplished and carefully reviewed variations applied to them so they can be distributed to multiple directories to avoid "duplicate content" issues. But, we avoid publishing these different variations to our own directory. In other words only one original article or highly articulated variation allowed...period. Do poor articles slip through on occasion, yes, but we are continually filtering and reviewing to remove these articles and ban the authors or submission services that submit them, so you can be assured the majority of time, that you will find only quality content on Article Storehouse.
With all the changes that Google has made I felt it necessary to reiterate Article Storehouse's policies, procedures and processes. If you should ever come across poor quality articles and content in our directory we highly encourage you to let us know though our contact form on the site.

Like anything from computer hardware and software to automobiles, things can be "reverse engineered" to achieve a near perfect copycat, or in the case of food; fast food duplicates, without actually knowing the original recipe or breaking into an underground vault or mounting spy camera's in the kitchens of McDonald's or even kidnapping the CEO and holding him or her ransom for that food you just have to have.
The key thing to remember when writing articles that you want to work for you 24/7/365, year after year, is to write interesting, timeless content that will prove useful to people searching for information on the topic you are writing about now or 5 years from now.
