Rewriting Articles - Why Should You?

Should you rewrite your articles? Before you give me your answer, I want to tell you a story about article rewriting.

I know two things. Number one, my stomach turns whenever I find that I have published an article with a mistake. It must be the grilling and drilling I got from my grade school teacher. Consequently, I am a slow producer of articles. At best, I can churn out maybe three articles a day. That is if I do nothing else.

I know that there are authors and gurus that say that they produce 20-30 articles per day! How do they do it? Considering the research, the creating, the writing, formatting and editing, how do they get passed writing even five articles per day? Are they using some form of rewriting articles?

Are they producing quality content? Maybe some are. I applaud those that are so gifted. I cannot. Perhaps, I am saying that I will not.

Let's look at this article. I will bet I am at or near 200 words. I am using a text editor. There is no counter, so I do not know the number. I haven't given you, the reader, any real information yet. Just opinion. I guess that is one way of writing articles. Is this how it's done?


The second thing I found out about writing is that though content is the king of quality writing, without volume and exposure of your articles, you lose. You may have the best content, but without traffic, you have no sales. For article marketers, more articles mean more sales. It's just common sense.

I can think of four ways to write more articles:

  1. Write more articles per day.
  2. Hire an author (outsource).
  3. Get PLR articles and submit them or rewrite and then submit.
  4. Rewrite the articles.

As I mentioned earlier the first way is out. I won't rush through writing an article without researching, editing and formatting.

The second way costs too much for me on my limited budget, plus I would probably end up rewriting them anyway.

If I bought PLR articles, it just seems a little on the shady side and this too could become costly. Besides, I know I would go over them with a fine toothcomb and end up rewriting them.

So, that leaves us with article rewriting.

To end this story, one day I came across one of my old articles. I read it and tested the link. The link worked. It sent me to one of my blogs. Do you know what I found? You don't? Allow me to tell you.

I was looking at the same article. The very same article I had just read! I wouldn't want to click through an article only to see the same material again. Would you?

Rewriting the article was not an option. I had submitted the same article to many different directories. I would not have been able to find them all. Could I find them all and rewrite them with fresh content? No.

It was then that I became an advocate of rewriting articles. Should you rewrite your articles? Most certainly. Is it worth your time and effort? Of course, had I rewritten that one article any readers linking to my blog would have found unique content. Will It improve your sales? How can it not? Your bounce rate will drop and that can only be a good thing.

A word of caution, do not use article rewriting software that uses synonym generation or that uses a thesaurus to create a rewritten article. It is a waste of your money. Be very careful. Always check each rewritten article for uniqueness.

Rewriting your articles is not that difficult.
