Tips to Finding a good Article Writer

A good article writer can be hard to find. There are many so called professional article writing services on the Internet that choosing somebody to write your articles can be as difficult and time consuming as writing them yourself..

There are no trade bodies for article writers and many claims of experience and skills can be greatly exaggerated, so why bother?

Well article marketing is a great way to boost links, generate traffic and ultimately bring home leads. Article marketing is also considered 'red hat', or an approved method of generating links for search engines like Google.

But finding an article writer can be difficult and many people find themselves writing their own articles. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this. You are, after all, the expert in your field so there is perhaps nobody better to write informative, authoritative and interesting articles in your industry.

However, writing an article, checking it and then submitting it to an article site or blog can be time consuming and for some people a single article can take over an hour to write – which may or may not be a problem depending on how much time you have.

However, because of this many people are obliged to hire a professional article writer to do the service for them but article writers can be mixed bag. Here are five tips in selecting an article writer:

  1. Ask to see samples of work. Read them thoroughly and check for spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes, if there are mistakes – walk away.

  2. Ask about other companies they have written articles for and approach the companies to see if they received a good service. Any professional and competent article writer will be pleased to provide good reference.

  3. Check the article you have been provided with is original – Enter a paragraph or sentence in Google or another search engine and see what comes up, Some article writing services rehash old articles into software that re-writes and re-edits it. This is know as derivative content and search engines can spot it a mile off. If identical or very similar articles appear then you've been had.

  4. Ask about what their qualifications are to write articles. There are no specifics but if somebody has a history of writing such as a career in journalism or teaching then you know you are on to a winner.

  5. Ask where the article writer is based, some article writing services are based abroad where English is not the first language and while many offer excellent and professional service there are many amateurs whose standard of English, that may be adequate in their own country, is not up to US or GB standards.
