Writing for the internet - 3 ways to generate fresh ideas

When writing for the Internet there is a huge cry for fresh ideas. If it has been done it has been done to death, resurrected, and then done to death again. So having fresh ideas can and will make a really big difference to how well your writing will be accepted. Here is how I find fresh ideas for good articles.

Number one. Asking yourself a lot of questions. I go to GOOGLE trends and look at what is very 'HOT' at the moment. I pick one that sounds interesting to me in the top 20. I then start asking myself questions about it. How do I feel about it?What would I do in that circumstance? or how would I react? Then I ask how someone else I know would react or feel differently?

After I have all my questions out there(written down), I Google them just as I have them. If its been done, it will come up. If it does, then I don't do it. I Ask enough questions about the subject that I will always have at least one unique angle.

Number twoThe best way to get a fresh idea on a subject is to sometimes combine it with another. I will ask myself how does this subject relate to whatever it is I decide to combine it with. This doesn't always work, but when it does, whoa can it work great.

Just narrow down the topic to one word and start compiling a bunch of other words phrases or topics until you hit a winner. You will know it when you do because you will instinctively feel it. Like an epiphany. Wow, I never though of it like this before, peanut butter and chocolate really does go great together.

Number three on generating fresh ideas is to visit places you have never gone to before. I know this one sounds a little crazy but it works. Just go where ever you know you would never likely go without a good reason. Investigate the place with your topic in mind and for some odd reason a new fresh idea will come to you.

This always works for me and for the life of me I cannot figure out why but new strange places just bring out something in my brain and I have heard this works for others as well. It is actually my fail safe for writer's block. It alleviates it 100% of the time. I find I cannot write I'll go out of my way to go to the Zoo for awhile. Or sometimes, a walk in a neighborhood I have never been in before works well for me too.

Needless to say, I don't really get writer's block anymore. There are too many ways out of it. In short, when writing for the internet you will need fresh content to stand out. Most people writing for the internet tend to just copy whatever is popular and successful. It makes for stale content all over the place.
