Yet Another ‘how to Write an Article’ Article

There are so many of them. Just Google ‘writing an article’ and you come up with thousands and thousands of ways how to do it. Some short, some incredible long, some simple and direct, some convoluted and boring. Yet, there’s always room for one more. Article writing is fast becoming so important on the Internet that you really do have to do some of it yourself. Sure you can buy them at any of those writing sites and they cost anything from $1 to $25. Of course, if you pay peanuts, you get gibberish most of the time. That will have you tearing your hair out. So maybe, just maybe, it’s time to look within and write it yourself. One thing I assure you – the going gets easier. That’s over and above the fact that it will be a job well done and your article will say exactly what you want it to.

Here’s a simple way to a great article. First off, write down what it is you want your article to convey. Then write out 5 points that you would like your article to include. Say your site is about acid reflux. The article you want to write about is how to treat acid reflux. Now put down what you would like the readers to take out from your article. Here, it could be ‘Hey, that’s a pretty comprehensive yet concise treatment range!’ Now that you’ve turned the article on its head and put down the readers’ reactions before you’ve even started to write, you’re on the right track.

The next step is to put down 5 points that you feel will be the backbone of the article. Well, for this article it could be:

1. Intro: when you should think about treatment
2. what kind of treatment you would be comfortable with
3. the different kinds of treatment available (conventional, natural remedies, exercises, avoiding certain foods)
4. weighing the pros and cons of each
5. Conclusion: how acid reflux can be treated

There, now you’ve got the basic structure. Now think of this as the structure around which you will build your article. To the basic form, add the meat, the style and the little embellishments. The joy of article writing comes from the satisfaction of having done it yourself. With time, you’ll find that this becomes almost a habit, a kind of inbuilt training and you’ll be churning out those articles much quicker than you thought possible!
