Every teen wants to have a forum of peers where they can freely enjoy expressing their thoughts and have a time of fun. Book club invitations for teens
would be an ideal social event for such activities. Ideally this can be done in the school as a library activity.

Book clubs are an ideal way for teens to share their ideas and concerns; and learn to express their opinions openly in a forum of like minded people. The first step is to form the group within a narrow age group. The number of teen members selected should be ideally not less than eight and not more than twenty. Once a group takes shape a president, secretary and a treasurer should be elected to run the club. The book club invitations for teens should be sent to the selected members by the office bearers after selecting a book. Give ample time for the readers to read the selected book. Thirty days is usually considered a sufficient time to finish a book, but it can be adjusted according to the groups other responsibilities. If the group consists of avid readers two weeks is considered sufficient.

Decide on a place to have the meeting which will be convenient to all the members. The school library is a good choice for a meeting place for the teens. The permission of the school librarian has to be sought, before conducting a meeting. Or each member can take turns to conduct the meeting in their own house. Also decide how often to meeting should take place. Meeting once a month will be an ideal interval. Each meeting should be for an hour or two. Choose one of the teens to lead the discussion. This role can be rotated. Give a chance to all the members.

Refreshments can be served before the meeting starts or after the meeting. The host could take the responsibility for light refreshments. Or every member can bring some snacks to share.

Book club invitations for teens are a great way for the teens to talk, spend valuable time together, voice their opinions, laugh together, share their likes and dislikes about a book or an author. This can be a platform for them to express themselves without hurting another and giving respect to others concerns. This will also improve tolerance.

Teachers or parents of the teens can act as monitors. They can help the teens to plan and conduct the meetings. The parents can also be invited to participate. This arrangement will help to keep the teens to stay connected with their parents. Current issues in popular magazines can also be touched upon during book club invitations for teens, so that the teenagers can prepare a little in ahead of what the want to talk during the meet.

Once in a while interactions can be arranged with similar clubs of adjacent schools for a wider participation. Special speakers or the author themselves can be invited to attend a special meeting. In the days of the computer age, the importance of the Book Clubs cannot be over emphasized. Yet books are great teacher and so having book club invitations for teens is a good idea to revive book reading.
