Writing:9 Grammatical Myths UnpluggedModern day writing allows for much flexibility in the interest of simple and effective communication. This is a refreshing development as it allows for writing that is less starchy, stiff necked or rigid. However, this does not mean that all the rules of good writing, especially in terms of grammar, are to be gaily abandoned. The rules and guidelines still apply but there is room for reasonable flexibility. Is there such a thing as perfect grammar? It very much depends on the writer, the reader and the message. It must also be borne in mind that even great writers have been known to have made grammatical mistakes. Even so, this has not made their writing any less popular. 1. End a sentence with a preposition.
