Business News Blog by Steve Daines: Steve Daines began his professional career at Procter & Gamble after putting himself through college at Montana State University. At age 21, he graduated with Highest Honors with a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering. Steve went directly into management at Procter & Gamble and spent the first seven years of his career at Procter & Gamble managing operations in the United States. He followed that assignment with six years of managing operations for Procter & Gamble in Hong Kong and mainland China. P&G entered the China market not to outsource their business, but to market and sell consumer products to the consumers of China.

In 1997, Steve left Procter & Gamble to return to Montana with his wife and four children. On his return, he joined the family home construction business run by his mother and father in Bozeman. After three years, Steve took an assignment as Vice President of Customer Service with RightNow Technologies, a high-tech startup founded and headquartered in Bozeman.

The company delivers "cloud" based customer experience solutions which allow for large businesses and organizations to better serve their customers, while at the same time lowering cost. These solutions assist companies and public agencies by improving their efficiency, and enhancing their customer's experience. RightNow Technologies began trading publicly in 2004 and now delivers their cloud based solutions to more than 1,800 companies around the world including Nikon, Procter & Gamble, Ricoh, Cisco, Electronic Arts, and Motorola. RightNow also provides services to a wide variety of federal, state, and local government agencies including the Social Security Administration, the FAA, the MTA, and The Department of Homeland Security. RightNow Technologies now has 17 offices with locations around the world including North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia.

Steve Daines most recent assignment with RightNow Technologies was General Manager/ VP of their Asia-Pacific business.

Steve Daines is an American businessman and politician from Bozeman, Montana.In 1997, Steve  decided it was time to move the family back to Montana. Steve left P&G and returned home to Bozeman and joined his mom and dad in the family construction business. In 2000, Steve joined RightNow Technologies, a start-up business founded and headquartered in Bozeman, which at that time had less than 100 employees.
