This person might be in charge of hiring and firing employees, product decisions, inventory management, etc. In this case, you would take a more hands-off approach, only being consulted when necessary.
The way you choose to run your business is entirely up to you. Sometimes circumstances dictate exactly how and when you structure your company. If you are working on a shoestring budget, you may be forced to work the business until you make enough money to expand the business enough to hire employees. Sometimes, you cannot immediately afford to hire a manager talented enough to let you have a hands-off approach to business. The type of structure you choose does not have to be permanent.
