Ask yourself the following questions to establish whether you have a good chance of immigrating successfully.
How much money do you have in your bank account?
Very few things in life are in fact free. Money is a major factor. The more money you have, the better your chances of settling down in your new country comfortably. If you are applying to a Working Holiday Visa for example, you may need a certain amount of money in your account purely for accomadation. After two years you are able to apply for permanent residency. Consider how much money you will have if you sell certain possessions. This should give you a good idea.
Do you have any recognised or reputable qualifications?
It goes without saying, if you have a recognised degree or diploma your chances of immigrating successfully are good. Gather all the documents or certificates that you have attained. If you prefer have them certified. Your qualifications forms an integral part of your immigration process. Also, the length of your course or courses is also important. Note how long your courses were.
Are your skills in demand?
You’ll need to find a secure job in the country that you’d like to immigrate to. Evaluate your skills set and match this up to the skills in demand. Australia is in need of tradespersons. Consider your options in this regard.
Are you willing to learn a trade?
If you don’t have a skill set that is in demand, why not learn a trade and become qualified? Establish which trades are in demand and consult an Immigration Consultant. Your consultant is able to lay out your options. Be sure to consider a trade that you have some interest in. Also, choose a trade that you could be passionate about. You may have to spend at least two years or even more doing that job!
How much experience do you have?
Your experience will count in your favour. After all, you can do the job! Gather reputable reference to establish your years of experience. Testimonials could also come in handy. Be sure to inform your consultant about your experience and insure that you have valid references.
Are you mentally and emotionally ready?
Immigration can be a strenuous process. You’re dealing with many factors including your emotional wellbeing. How do you feel about immigrating? Are you really ready for this change? Make sure that you have strong links within your home country. This will help you to hold onto your roots, where you come from. Ask yourself this important question because one you are in your new country there’s very little you can do but adapt.
Is your family member supportive?
You most important hurdle to overcome is to cement the relationship you have with your family. If they are not immigrating with you get them into your corner. Talk to them and gauge their feelings. Give them a chance to voice their fears and opinions. If negative, give them your point of view. There’s nothing worse than living in another country and not having the support of your family.
Now that you’ve answered these prevalent questions, give yourself hours to digest these factors. Once you’ve gone through the process ask yourself what great opportunities there are to look forward to in your new home country. Immigrating may be difficult but your dream for a brighter future is possible!
