Venus is mentioned as 'Shukracharya" in Shastras. Shukracharya was the Guru of Demons and he was a great learned. He got the knowledge about MritaSanjeevani Vidhya ( The power to bring a dead man to Life).

According to Vedic astrology Shukra has relation with Venus or we can say that Venus is " Shukracharya" himself. According to " Shree Garuda Puranam" Diamonds are related to Venus. VratShanita also tells us a lot about diamonds. But Vrath Shanita never acclaims that diamonds are related to Venus. This old treatise written by " Varahmihira" tells us about the effects that are portrayed by several stones like Ruby, Venus and Sapphires.

Diamond is a very interesting object to look at. While saying interesting i am not talking about its luster or color. I am talking about its appearance. When you look at a diamond which will appear very beautiful and appealing, you will immediately be charmed by its looks. But when you pull it under a 30X loupe you will see a totally different picture. According to Shastras Shukracharya has got some mysterious powers and he had the powers to invoke mantras. This mysterious phenomenon can be seen in diamonds and Garnets.

According to legends Rahu is a demon and is a mysterious planet. Astrologers get baffled by its results sometimes. This is the same case with its stone Garnet Hessonite. Hessonite which may appear very beautiful to eyes may appear totally different under loupe. It is interesting to note that Both the planets and the signified stones carry same properties. Rahu has a tendency of cheating. You can feel that when you hold a Hassonite in your hand. It will appear beautiful but you will feel sad when you put it under some kind of microscope.

Coming back to diamond, this beautiful stone attract ladies from centuries. But according to some Vedic texts, ladies should not wear a diamond. A clear flawless diamond can however be different. Still many Acharayas believed that a lady who wants to have a male child should not wear a diamond.

According to VratShanita diamonds should be worn in triangular shapes as they are ruled by Varuna Devta.

According to This Shloka a diamond which is flawed can bring ill luck to brothers, is disastrous for prosperity, can bring untimely death. While a clear flawless diamond can save you from death and will prevent dangers from Poisons. According to "Yukti KalpaTaru" diamonds should always be worn in Gold.

According to Varahmihira Diamond which is having six cuts at Girdle or Crown is considered to be ruled by " Indra Devta". Black diamonds are ruled by "Yamadevta". The diamonds which carry a color similar to the stem of a Banana tree is considered as ruled by " Shree Hari vishnu". Trill ian cut diamond is ruled by " Varun Devta" and one which carries a red color with Trilliant cut is ruled by " Agni Devta".

Marquise Cut diamond which carries a red color is ruled by " Vayu Devta".

While one should try to wear diamond according to his Elemental scarcity one should also remember that they should all be flawless and clear. One should not forget that diamonds are precious objects and they are cut according to their brilliance and position in rough. So getting a diamond in exact shape required by one person is not only difficult but also chance based too.

But it is really interesting that diamonds can invoke the "Mritasanjeevani" in a person if it is of the right shape, color and quality.
