Making predictions in astrology

Several visitors after my last article were very happy to note that they are able to understand the importance of ascendant (LAGNA).

But Many of them were curious to know how to find out whether the horoscope is that of a boy or girl or anyother animals/birds/etc., ?. This is very valid question and referring to old scripts it is very difficult to find out the reason.

But Great Varahamihira, Vyasa,kalidasa were stressing the need for spiritual duty to be performed by pandits and thereby getting ATHMA VISION.  As I already said the LAGNA of a horoscope points to ATHMA ( inner soul) of a person and that it is cast based on sun's position on the date/day/time of birth.

ATHMA has to be understood properly, meaning that it has no shape/no gender/never gets affected by heat/ice/water/air etc. ATHMA never have any hungryness and doesnot need food. It not affected by anyother external features.

 There are lot of explanations for people to understand  ATHMA and there are various practices to be followed to get ATHMA VISION. Athma travels from BODY to BODY and can take any shape/form depending on its past deeds. In fact  various things that turns so fast in our mind is the result of ATHMA experienced actions and deeds it has done during veriuos previous births/deaths. Great AdiSankara says birth/death is a  regular activity and people cannot escape from this cycle.

Even in the present Janma, the thinking/actions that comes in our mind is dictated by our own ATHMA inside only. But it will look to us as though it comes on our own and we are great in our own way and this is so natural for living beings. But person with ATHMA vision knows ,clearly and sees dictates of  athma actions.

Anyone practising Prayers and Mantras regularly, will have chances of getting ATHMA vision. Pranayam is the best way to get the ATHMA vision. A person attains this level will not visible and he/she will not have liking for present day like life. Those people normally do not eat and like conventional food. Many of them do never go after food. All materialistic attachments will vanish from his mind.

They live without food and has the habit of eating air. Those who are regularly performing Homams/Yagnas will know that so long as they do the same, inspite of the fact that it may be for hours, they will never feel hungry. This is the starting point for getting ATHMA VISION.

Once a person gets such ATHMA vision will be able to see ATHMA of others and will be able to realise the motives of the same. This kind of ATHMA VISION is the prerequisite to be an astrologer. Truly speaking homams are conducted to get the clear vision of ATHMA to see how to make the person happy.

Therefore, astrologer must understand that the horocope is reading one's ATHMA. Hence it is not an easy task for an astrologer to find out whether it is boy or girl?.  In my experience of spirituality /astrology for more than 40 years now, I can say in clear terms that it is ATHMA which is dictating terms to our mind. If an astrologer can study the ATHMA of a person through his/hers Lagna, it is possible that he/she will predict future perfectly.

BUT our sages are very clear that person with ATHMA VISION should never expect rewards, never forget his athma powers, as some charts (athma) which he is analysing might create severe problems for him. I have seen many pandits have suffered very badly. This also finds in the life of great sage Vishvamitra, who wanted to use his spiritual powers to test it ,in the case of THRISANKU, landed himself in big trouble and had to start from beginning to attain the level of great MAHARISHI.

But we are neither of the level of great sage or can ever think of achieving the same. We are all ordinary people and with the rules prescribed by great rishis, we are assessing the horoscopes. I find in my practical experience that ,I was stressing the need for looking into 4th.5th, 9th and 10th houses, which gives lot of informations about previous Janma of the person. This way of analysis may not be eating into your Athma vision. Only in very few cases, Pandits should use special prayers in case of severe problems in a horoscope.
