Mercury Square Saturn

The planet Mercury, being closest to the sun and having the smallest orbit, appears to move the fastest around the sun—it’s year is just 88 days long. In astrology Mercury is associated with our mind (intellect, curiosity), all forms of communication, information, science, youthfulness, and travel. Mercurial people are highly intelligent and they apply their intellect and curiosity to all that attracts their interest. They have a huge thirst for knowledge. They usually excel in speaking and writing.

You can say Mercury describes our mental attitude, the way we are communicating and interacting with others.

Saturn on the other hand represents restriction, boundaries, limitations, consolidation, slowing down or blocking the energy flow, and challenges us to have a look into our fears and unconscious structures. If we comply we then experience clarity and the right course of action to take. What seemed to be a problem before isn’t one any longer.

Mercury squaring Saturn might confront us with darker thoughts and the tendency to look at the glass half empty. But it also presents us with the chance to get clear with structures in our lives which are not working well for us in the bigger picture.

Find Out What Doesn’t Work in Your Life

Like for me I have the tendency of overworking! Does that sound familiar?

I have been self- employed all my life and therefore always had to create my working structures myself. Self discipline might have become overly evolved.  I push myself pretty hard to attend to all the different things in my life. I grew up with: “First the work and then the fun!”

No wonder my work ethics have become a little skewed sometimes. I also love what I am doing. It is extremely creative and fulfilling. And I am becoming more aware of that inner pushing which creates emotional stress in my life.

I keep reminding myself that the joy is in the journey and not in the result of my efforts down the road. I can already enjoy where I am along my way. That way I am already energetically in alignment with the dream I am pursuing and it will pull me forward, inspire and nourish me. I will use any excuse to feel good and enjoy myself.

Moon Enters Virgo

The Moon is our emotional filter and guidance from within. The Moon is the fasted moving planet in astrology, it moves through the whole zodiac in about 28 days. That gives us a variety of feelings and emotional focal points we act from. Most of the time we are unaware why we feel the way we do or even how we feel. Watching the Moon going through the zodiac can create more awareness for our inner workings and we can relax into the constant change of our inner emotional tides.

The Moon in Virgo helps with the theme introduced by Mercury/ Saturn. This Moon will help to bring awareness to how we create and manage our inner and outer structures in our life. We might be more conscious about negative patterns of self- doubt and self- criticism.

We feel more in tune with focusing on details and take steps to implement changes if needed.

The conjunction of Moon with Saturn on Saturday is along the same line.

So my suggestion for this weekend is to take some time with your journal or your partner and look into one area in your life you feel the energy is not flowing the way you want it. Write everything down what comes to your mind concerning that issue.

Then sit and meditate on it for 15 minutes. From this deeper inner place of inner peace and a relaxed mined get your journal and write down some ideas of improvement you want to implement and then take a first step towards it.
