I Will Come for youMy mum always says that when you have children, you want them to know how much you love them, how important they are to you and that no matter what trouble they get themselves into, you will come for them. With the help of a local waitress, 2 solicitors and a retired barrister, Desmond Doyle decides to take his case to the Supreme Court to challenge the Irish Constitution and set a new precedent in Irish law. CrashIf a black man reaches into his pocket, is he getting a gun? If a young man has tattoos, does that mean he is a criminal and he has been to prison? If a man looks middle-eastern does that mean he is a terrorist? Even if you are not a minority, do you have to be discriminated against? We may be different colors, shapes, sizes, with different backgrounds and different opinions, but in the end, we are all people. Seeing is Believing…right? The thing about magic tricks, is that magicians can perform amazing things like decapitating limbs and it looks so real, if you didn't know better, you would think it was so. Pulling objects out of thin air and making things disappear, no matter how simple, appears genuine to the viewer. Humor StimulationChildren laugh a lot but they don’t think everything is funny to them. Funnily enough, young children don’t have a sense of humor. The younger the child, the easier it is to see the connections in the brain and the cognitive capacity necessary in order to understand jokes. Enchanted LifeFairy tales usually bring to life a fantasy about far away lands, kings and queens, wizards, fairies and witches, trolls and talking animals. They take us to a place where the poor get rich and the weak gets strong. All fairy tales, (though not all have fairies, like Hansel and Gretel or Little Red Riding Hood) include fantasy and unreal scenarios. The more unreal the idea, the more enchanting the story. What if Someone you Loved Died?I think in the end, the best we can do is tell the people that we love, that we love them. And do our best to live our lives the best that we know how. Because when our loved ones die, we cannot change anything, we cannot bring them back by grieving forever, we can only cope, heal and find peace with ourselves. Happily Ever AfterAfter careful consideration of the movies I have seen in my time, I have come to the conclusion that all those fairy tale, Disney movies like "Aladdin" and "The Little Mermaid" comprise a large part of my movie repertoire. Human Trafficking - Made you Think AgainI wrote an article not too long ago about movies that make you think – about love, money, life. The other night I watched "Human Trafficking" and it topped all the movies I've seen in a while. This movie made me think about just-about-everything. The Golden Compass – the Best Movie This Boxing DayOf all the movies I have seen in the past while, one of the very few that I liked was, surprisingly, "The Golden Compass" which was released this Boxing Day. "The Golden Compass" showed all of the things I love in a movie: great actors, fantastic visual effects, amazing scenery, a great story and a good ending. How Do Kids Choose MoviesHow do kids choose their movies? It's a question many parents ask themselves. Young kids (and many adults) are so stressed about watching each movie the minute it hits the big screen that enormous queues are formed and tickets sell out before you even get half way to the door.
