NBA- New Orleans Obtain its Second Victory after Beating Clippers 112-84After a thorough loss against the Los Angeles Lakes 104-88 the night before at the Staple Center, the New Orleans Hornets bounced right back to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 112-84 this Monday in the same arena. NFL- Panthers take revenge, beat the Cardinals 34-21The Carolina Panthers were the big surprise in Week 8 of the NFL. The team beat the Arizona Cardinals 34-21 on Sunday, taking revenge for a humiliating loss in the 2008 playoffs. During the rematch, the Panthers were a changed team: Jake Delhomme recovered from a slew of interceptions last week for a mistake-free game, while Carolina’s defense was on the ball. MLB- Phillies Beat Dodgers 5-4 and are closer to win the National League SeriesThe Phillies are one game away from winning the National League Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. With two outs in the ninth, the Phillies were down in the score 4-3. The Dodgers looked likely to take a win in the series. NFL- Falcons Defeated the Bears Again in Final SecondsThey may have had more than 11 seconds this year, but not much more. Nevertheless, the Atlanta Falcons again beat the Chicago Bears in the final minutes of their game, finishing ahead 21-14 on Sunday – a close repeat of last October’s electrifying 22-20 Falcons-Bears match.
