External wall finishes in masonry can be formed as a cladding or as the actual wall. The actual wall is which is built to carry weight or as in fills within a building frame. The cladding is applied onto a wall which is erected.

Roofing can be designed to be flat, cone shaped, heaped or pitched. The construction industry has evolved from the traditional roofing iron sheets to modern technology tiles. This can be the stone coated sheets, clay or concrete tiles, concrete and shingles.

Security lights are fixed outside the home on walls or posts. This are in various shapes and sizes. These can be ordinary bulbs, energy savers or flood lights.

A fish pond can be formed within the landscaped garden as a feature. This may be set up near a gazebo. It is usually sunk in the ground.

Roofing felts or underlays are fixed before laying any concrete, clay or shingles. This are used underneath the final roof covers. They can be polythene or bituminous in nature.

Water is life so it is said. This medium is used for drinking, cooking, washing, cleaning and for removing effluent in the home. This is also used to generate hydro electricity.

Arches are decorative elements formed over wall openings in a building. This are erected over door, window or any opening into rooms like lounges or dining rooms. Brick arches can be horizontal or curved. Usually the height is about a foot.

Timber door frames have been commonly used in homes for decades. The timber used will range from soft to hard wood. The size of the frame is from six inches to about one foot wide.

Swimming pools are recreational facilities that may be constructed at home. Sometimes the weather may not be favorable for a dive into the water. This can be changed by having the water warmer than the weather temperature.

The home has interior partitions made up of walls. The rooms formed by the partition are further divided using movable or immovable dividers. This usually changes the setup of the space into different usable areas.
