    Worldwide, infections produced by bacteria are treated with substances called antibiotics. Exist 2 classes of antibiotics: bacteriocidal (witch kill the bacteria) and bacteriostatic (witch prevent the bacterial growth). The antibiotics are produced nowadays on a large scale using usually aerobic fermentation of different kind of microorganisms.     Corneal Transplant - to Do or not to Do

    The cornea is the transparent tissue seen on the front of the eye. It covers the iris and the lens. Together with the lens, the cornea refracts the light entering the eye, helping it to focus on the retina. So, for this function, the cornea is one of the most important part of the eye anatomy. It is good to know that the cornea is non vascular tissue (there are not blood vessels in it). This feature makes the transplanted cornea to not be rejected by the receiver.
