In the past year I have started working parttime as a landscaper assistant and am having a blast! We are currently starting an internet business selling greenhouses. Landscaping, gardening, backyard ponds, fountains, and teaching--what a wonderful mix!
As a teacher I am enjoying teaching my students math and science through greenhouses. This is a brand new adventure, which (of course), stems from my parttime job. My students are 5th - 8th grade. They are exciting to watch as they learn from their new found friends -- plants! I love hands on. It is the way I learn best. I am not amazed to learn my students also learn best this way. We are probably the noisiest class in school, but we are also one of the busiest. I don't have to pressure most of my students to work (as long as I stay away from book and pencil.) They will jump right in and get started. What I do have problems with is time. There is never enough. When my students walk in they immediately start checking their projects, measuring and taking notes. I enjoy working with plants and people. I also enjoy riding my horse on trail rides. She is a brown quarterhorse named Molly. I am currently working with my church to get a greenhouse business off the ground. It is our dream and goal to have a network of greenhouses, growing fruit and vegetables throughout the year, and selling to stores and businesses in our area. We intend to raise food through organic, hydroponics, and aquaponic methods. I am looking for any information available on the best and most cost effective way to pursue this. My hobbies are my life. My husband laughs and says he has to support my hobby -- teaching.
