You have to watch out for emails from websites that you use. I don't know if you use ebay or Paypal, but even sites like GoDaddy and Amazon that have your credit card information you have to be careful with. They'll send you a harmless looking email that looks just like it came from the site. You'll click a link which opens a new page and you try to log into your account to answer the question they asked or address the issue they contacted you about.

There seems to be some confusion regarding paying VAT on the purchase of property after Cyprus takes on the Euro beginning in 2008. Many people believe that starting in 2008 all property purchases will have Value Added Tax added to it, which is not the case. Any purchase of property that received its' planning permit prior to May 1, 2004 will not have VAT apply and every property that has applied for building permit after May 1, 2004 will have VAT added regardless of when the agreement is signed

Many home buyers in Cyprus purchase their property without title deeds because of the system in Cyprus and the lengthy process that is involved. Buyers go through the process with out truly understanding it until they must sell. Most buyers think that they will not have this problem when they purchase and many believe that they will hold on to their property for many years and will have received the title deeds by then.

I have concluded my second consecutive summer here and anticipating the beauty of the coming autumn and winter seasons, I would like to share a few points about Cyprus for interested vacationers, people relocating and intending to buy property and live here, or anyone just interested in reading.

Selling a property in Cyprus for which individual title deeds exists is a fairly simple procedure. Besides the seller and the buyer and most likely their legal representatives, no involvement is required by the builders or developers. In Cyprus there are 2 basic different types of properties, those that have their own separate title deed and those that form part of a development pending the completion of the development and the completion of the subdivision.

A marketing company that sells property is responsible for publishing median house prices for the whole country - are these legimate figures or not?
