Older cats are prone to aches, pains and health issues just like their human owners. Such problems come with advancing age. The average lifespan of the cat has increased and chances cat owners will see age-related issues have increased as well.

There are usually three major concerns of new or expectant parents when it comes to mixing pets with their family.

Cats are very communicative with body language and sounds. They are often stereotyped as being distant and uncommunicative because of their solitary nature and independence.

Cats that live free in the wild or anywhere spend much of every day "hunting" for food. Indoor cats have life easier......or do they? We probably need to find more creative ways to provide cats with some of the same kind of stimulation free living cats enjoy. It is very much a cat's instinct to hunt for food; however, our indoor cats usually have their food put literally at their paw-tips.

Scratching posts should be a staple item for every household with pet cats and cat catteries as well. The scratching post should be sturdy so it does not fall over when the cat uses it. It should be tall enough so the cat can stretch upward to scratch and made of material the cat likes.

Even though indoors in the best place for your cat, indoor life can also contribute to boredom and stress that might result in medical and behavior problems. There are steps cat owners can take to provide an interesting indoor life for feline companions.

There are cats, which are universally characterized as finicky eaters, who orally obsess upon objects such as fabric, string and plastic. They can proceed to suck, chew or ingest these materials as well.

Cats sometimes find another surface in the house it prefers over the litter provided in the litter box.
