David Francis - ArticlesDavid Francis specializes in the inbound tourism sector of the tourism industry in New Zealand. Born and educated in New Zealand, David’s love affair with the country was formed at a very early age. Later he travelled extensively throughout the world, and worked for several years in the USA in the field of process engineering. It was during this time that he recognized the need for a more involving, enriched travel experience to be available to New Zealand visitors. After his US contract was completed, David returned home to start Black Sheep Touring, which was at the time a pioneer of the small –group travel industry. David holds a degree in Chemical and Process Engineering obtained from The University of Auckland, and a Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology. David’s love of the unique flora and fauna of New Zealand has fed his strong ethical, cultural, and environmental stance as it relates to tourism. David has shared his understanding of tourism through several lecturing appointments at the Tourism School of the Nelson and Marlborough Technical Institute.
