David Walmsley - Articles

I started painting in 1996 with a painting apprenticeship. I was an award winning apprentice at my school for all three years and after completing all of my studies and training I was signed off on my apprenticeship 6 months earlier than normal. After gaining my Trade Qualifications I immediately took on the role as Foreman. Then about a year later I became the Project Manager, operating in both Residential and Commercial Projects. So my experience in this field is quite extensive.
Nowadays, I have mostly hung up my painting tools save for a few odd jobs here and there. I focus my time on building websites and writing articles to help other people who want to learn how to paint or how to solve their painting challenges.
Prior to starting the www.askthepainternow.com website I spent over 12 years as a painter, working many different styles of painting jobs - Houses, Motels, Commercial Factories, Schools, Ski Resorts etc, I even painted a horse stable. I have helped train several apprentices, managed multiple jobs simultaneously and lastly I can say, now that my children are at school, I have survived one of the most challenging feats known to man - Managing painting working bees at their school which are loaded with kids willing to paint absolutely anything!! A nightmare and a test of anyone's patience!!!

If you would like to contact me and ask a question or even tell me about your painting project I would love to hear from you, you can reach me at dave@askthepainternow.com
