Larvicidal Activities of Aquous Extracts of Nineteen Indian Plants Against Two Mosquito Species, Aedes(s) Albopictus and Culex QuinquefasciatusMethanol extracts of 19 indigenous plants were evaluated as mosquito larvicide. Among these, pericarp of Zanthoxylum limonella was found to have the most promising larvicidal properties against Aedes(s) albopictus and Culex quinquefasciatus with LD90 values at 0.47 ppm and 0.73 ppm, respectively. The extracts of the remaining plant parts showed less effectiveness. However, plant extracts were found more effective against Aedes(s) albopictus larvae than against Culex quinquefasciatus larvae.
