Dr David Black - Articles

Dr David Black is an Australian chiropractor in private practice. After 25 years as a pharmacist, he went back to study in 1980 as a mature aged student and has now practiced chiropractic for 25 years. He is passionate about patient education and giving people the tools to help themselves.

David has a broad overview of health issues which derive from his experience in two professions. He believes in the concept of the body being able to heal itself and that healing process being assisted by chiropractic adjustments.

He takes time to explain this philosophy to his patients and they come to understand the importance of having regular chiropractic treatment.

David participates in ongoing chiropractic education and is a regular attendee at seminars given by leading educators and researchers in the medical field.

He is able to present the latest information to his patients and uses the techniques best suited to their individual needs.

David looks back over 50 years of practice in the health professions, firstly in pharmacy and later in chiropractic. He remembers the times that his clients believed that all healing could come out of a bottle of medicine.

Nowadays people are more educated and discerning and understand that nature intended the body to heal itself and that by removing the obstacles that people place in the way of their healing, they can achieve optimum health.

This concept, he says, exactly fits the chiropractic paradigm of removing nerve interference which then allows the body to function at its optimal potential.

The human body is a marvellous machine that has the ability to do minor repairs to itself. When all of these internal adjustments have been made and the body feels that it is still out of alignment, it send messages of pain and discomfort to the brain so that we know that we had better do something about it before it gets worse. That's when you want the sort of doctor that understands what those calls really mean...a Doctor of Chiropractic. Read: Why Should I See a Chiropractor? Read

    Is Running Addictive?

Most doctors, chiropractors and physiotherapists will tell you that they have patients who seem to be hooked on or addicted to their physical activities. It seems that they feel genuinely deprived when they have to stop running. Just like some people become addicted to alcohol, tobacco or drugs, the runner or jogger also becomes addicted.
