He is currently an adjunct lecturer in Philosophy for Laidlaw College and is undertaking a teaching diploma through Bethlehem Tertiary Institute as there are limited vacancies in Christian Philosophy in New Zealand. He is seeking full-time academic employment in either Philosophy or Theology and will consider vacancies anywhere in the world; contact Matthew if you are interested in his resume.
His area of expertise is the interface between Philosophy and Theology, Applied Ethics and Worldviews. He has formally debated Dr Zoe During (formerly of the Abortion Law Reform Association of New Zealand) and Dr Bill Cooke (then President of the New Zealand Association of Rationalist Humanists). He has been published in several international journals of philosophy and has a personal reference from Dr Francis J. Beckwith, the former President of the Evangelical Theological Society, in his resume. Christian Faith, Logic and Reason: Why Christians Should Embrace all ThreeSome Christians view logic and reason as secular, humanistic processes. As a Christian philosopher not only do I think this view is mistaken but I argue for the position that they are vital to articulating and defending the faith and fulfilling the scriptural requirements of 1 Peter 3:15 "...always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have within."
