In keeping with the point to provide gender equality the Union government of India has been constantly trying to bring a legislation to provide for 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament. But due to several reasons the bill have not been passed in the Parliament. 15th INDIAN PARLIAMENT: HUGE EXPECTATIONS15th Parliament election, this is the first election in India where the two major parties the Congress and the BJP declared their candidates for future Prime Minister- even before the election, verdict delivered once again coalition government at the center. Congress formed its second coalition government at the centre. In this context, one question looms largely in the minds of the Indian people is Will the 15th Parliament function properly? or Will the Parliament restore its name and fame? Terrorism: Southeast Asian PhenomenaTerrorism is a highly controversial, issue in contemporary international affairs. It is considered as a threat to global peace, security, and development especially in the aftermath of 9/11. The Sep.11 2001 attacks on the United States brought the attention of the entire world community towards the global phenomenon.Western countries, especially the USA, perceived Southeast Asia is emerging as the most important centre for terrorism outside of the Arab East. On Revitalizing Parliamentary DemocracyParliamentary democracy was adopted in India after elaborate debate among the founding fathers of India’s constitution. Healthy Debate, more sittings, spending more time for legislative business is now being overshadowed by uproar, chaos, conflicts and forced adjournments. Most of the bills were passed without any proper discussions in the house. Electing quality of MPs, with professional background, and strict enforcement of code of conduct, will restore Parliamentary democracy in india. Tackling Terrorism an Alternative StrategySince Sep.11 2001 Terrorism, a global phenomenon, has become one of the most highly charged topics of public debate. Whether in Sep.11 attack or terror plots in other parts of the world, including India, the recent example is Jaipur blasts, the terrorists were arrested were belongs to particular religion. The main agenda before the terrorists is to create a Dar-ul-Islam or the Land of Islam for Islamists with a global vision.The present effort to tackle Terrorism has proved unsuccessful. Withering Indian Parliamentary DemocracyParliament in India has contributed the most to the consolidation and strengthening of democracy in the country. Early Parliament had spent most of its time for socio-economic development of the nation. But at present healthy debate and discussions, the hallmark of Parliamentary democracy, was overshadowed by disruption, confrontation, forced adjournments. The speaker is not able to conduct the business of the Parliament properly. People has lost faith on Indian Parliamentary system.
