I have been writing since high school as a member of the Quill and Scroll Society. Carrying my love of writing to college with course work in journalism I restarted their failed college newspaper before leaving for a position with a large manufacturing company. My writing background got me selected to write for the newly formed company newsletter. The newsletters purpose was to promote the concept of teamwork and lay the foundation for the effort to become ISO 9001 certified. Until 2004 my professional background was 18 years with this company. I was a supervisor in their northeast machining center and played a large part in improving workplace ergonomics. My training as a lead auditor in the companies ISO 9001 initiative helped in achieving their certification and elevated the company’s standard of quality to an international level. As an instructor for Development Dimensions International’s course on workforce empowerment I was able to organize a Workplace Design Team and as a team they exceeded all the ergonomic goals set by the company.
