Ingo Weigel is the author of “SELF-DEFENSE FOR MODERN TIMES”, the first book on Revat, an innovative fitness and self-defense program for professional adults living in an urban environment.

Born in Russia and growing up in former East Germany, martial arts were limited and controlled by the iron fist of the communist government. As a former border patrol officer Ingo Weigel always had an interest in learning self-defense and protecting himself. When the wall came down in 1989, Weigel had the opportunity to learn from the best martial arts instructors and train with the finest practitioners. Weigel gratefully accepted and devoted all his time to studying an ancient secret martial art that was created by a woman.

He discovered that traditional self-defense and martial arts programs are focusing only on the physical level and therefore missing some very important elements. Neglecting these elements is the reason why most adults are not able to benefit from martial arts training. After many years of study, trial and error Revat was born. Revat is highly effective and based on principles that can easily be applied to one’s height and fitness level. Revat is the missing link to real Personal Safety for professional adults living and working in an urban environment because it enables women and the “average built” man to protect themselves against different attacks from traditional and mixed martial arts as well as vicious and forceful street attacks. It also can compliment martial arts training due to its unique focus on tactile reflexes.

In 2000, Ingo Weigel decided to leave Germany. He arrived in Chicago with a couple hundred dollars and a suit case. Soon after his arrival, Weigel opened the REVAT TRAINING CENTER in Chicago, IL offering regular group classes, private instructions and corporate workshops. Ingo is fluent in English and German. He is also a certified Reiki Master.
