The next step is adding pleasant, yet appropriate, scents to your home. Have you ever gone to someone's home and noticed that the entire thing smelled like flowers or sweet fruity scents? Such contrived odors make it obvious that the homeowner is using air fresheners or room deodorizers; this makes you feel like they're trying to cover up bad smells.

Small or tiny homes are also a green alternative to a large home. This is partly due to the fact that they take less resources to make because there is just less materials in their construction and partly due to the fact that they take less energy to heat and cool. If you also use more ecologically friendly materials in its construction you can vastly improve on your home's carbon footprint as well.

Pavers, asphalt, and concrete all have a type of sealer that works for that particular material which should be applied as per manufacturers' instruction. They may be power washed as well, though make sure to not use too hard of a spray to keep from removing the surface.

Texas remains strong in its oil and health care industry, and as a result has experienced less ill effects from the economic crisis than most states. Perhaps due to sheer volume of opportunities, they too, are having problems finding skilled employees.

In any event, rising rates do nothing to encourage the recent program designed to help homeowners refinance their mortgages. HARP, or Home Affordable Refinance Program, allows those in situations where they owe between 80% and 105% of their home's value, to refinance at new lower rates. It was projected that the program could help almost five million homeowners ease their monthly payment.

People-powered push mowers are returning with a vengeance. They have similar designs, but now promise to be quieter, easier to maneuver and lightweight. Some even include attachments for grass catchers.

Imagine a floating retirement home that includes accommodations for two with ocean view, all meals, co-ownership in a cruise ship, a membership to a Golf and Country Club, monthly Bahamas cruise and annual cruise to the Caribbean. Sound too good to be true?

However, it seems that even today, we are still slipping in the filthy slime of racism. Little things, like that joke your boss said yesterday or the hedging questions of your latest client about the “mix” of a neighborhood. Or, the infamous, “I'm not a racist, but… [insert racist comment here]”. The problem with brushing aside things like, “I'm not a racist, but…” is that it remains ingrained as an acceptable practice.

This would explain the high content of sulfur-based gases that are being emitted from some of the drywall examined, and for the rapid deterioration of electrical connections and household appliances. Some gases named as being present in tested board include hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, carbon disulfide, and carbonyl sulfide. Fumes from hydrogen sulfide can cause severe respiratory distress and death.

Thin out your bookcases, packing away any books destined for future garage sales or donations. Dust, and rearrange existing books in an attractive manner, and add some small accessories or accents. Empty shelves are a great spot to show off a framed print or vase.
