Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons in Pakistan

Abstract Thousands of people have died in South Asia, in the fifty years since the emergence of the region from colonial rule, in violence not related to direct military conflict. Almost all the casualties are caused by small arms and light weapons. This article given a brief note on domestic and illegal production of small arms and light weapons in south Asia and especially in Pakistan and their trafficking to the various parts of the world and of inability of the government to check it.
