Distinguishing qualities of my work:

Expertise

I have my Ph.D in psychology which provides me with a depth of insight into why individuals act or respond the way that they do and how that behavior might be changed.

My knowledge of psychological theories of personal development gives me a useful understanding of which methods are most useful in helping people in advanced stages of development.

My coaching practice, founded on this knowledge, is designed to provide intelligent, motivated and creative people with the support and challenge they need to be their personal best.

My therapy practice is a multi-modal approach designed to work with the individual character and personal styles of processing that each client possesses to help uncover and release old patterns an effect personal growth.

Vision: I am able to see, draw out, and give form to clients dreams and visions.

Organization: I have excellent organizational skills which allow me to aid projects and individuals in most efficently making their visions reality.

Creativity: 15 years of engaging in and analysing the creative process.

Energy: I have a tremendous amount of energy and I am able to move projects or process forward with this energy while simultaneously holding and caring for the more subtle and yet still essential parts of the process.

Wisdom: My life has been dedicated to understanding and learning from my own personal experience. I balance my subjective knowledge with objective listening skills and intuition to understand and support clients.

Intuition:I find the sparks, in a person or a project. The sparks are where great stores of energy can be found and released. I listen for the yearning, the drive, and the essence. I become the client ally and work with her or him to bring this essential nature more fully into the world.

Integrity:I make an effort to be sure that every aspect of my practice emphasizes respect for the unique individual with which I am working.
My background

Born with an artistic temperament and a love of the unknown, and becoming a single parent in my twenties, I learned to maintain and develop my passion while doing the laundry and making a living. I believe these experiences are reflected in my work, which is both expansive and pragmatic. I have spent the last 15 years learning and practicing alternative approaches to growth and development. A significant part of my life is guided by my passion to deeply understand human experience and to support individuals in their personal work. I was drawn to this field through an instinctive tug that enticed me to take home books on psychology and religion from the library when I was still in my early teens, encouraged me to study bodywork in my early twenties, and continued to lure me through my doctoral degree. I have a Ph.D. in psychology. I have intensive training in group process and I have studied coaching through The Coaching Alliance.

Connection vs. Separation in Personal Growth

When we understand that we are not separate from our wants and needs, we are able to be more competently and confidently create what we most deeply want. Many of us have adopted a separatist view of our experience, when we could be better served by a holistic view. A shift from one view to another can be very helpful in advancing our personal growth. Reconciling Passion and Balance

How do those who are deeply passionate about their work balance their lives? I have written a few articles on the topic of balance and could list several ways “to balance your life” but that does not seem to answer the deeper question that is being asked. This question I suspect is much more complicated than the basics of work/life balance. Read: Reconciling Passion and Balance Read
