This is Why in Business; You Follow Your Heart…In 2003, I started a digital magazine, and everyone frowned upon it, and thought that I had lost my mind, trying to bring a magazine, that looked and felt just like a print magazine, online, and often asked if I would take it to print. I would always respond, ‘no,’ because the print magazines would eventually be forced to either bring their publications online, or close altogether. Michael Jackson Has Walked His Last Moon Walk…I saw it on the Internet in minutes; “Iconic Entertainer, Michael Jackson, has Died at the Age of 50,” is what a lot of the headlines read. I really did not know if I wanted to be sad for the mega-superstar, that changed the music game forever, or if I was relieved for him, that he would now find peace. It is said that Michael Jackson died with massive debt, and we all know that a 50 state tour, would wreak havoc on even the youngest of performers, so we know that the thought of that for Micha The Thrill is Gone for Me – Why I Do Not Watch American Idol Anymore…I remember I used to have to rush home every Tuesday and Wednesday from the office, just so that I could watch dreams being made or shattered on American Idol. I even watched the night that Simon Cowell had some not so nice things to say to now, Academy Award winner, Jennifer Hudson. I remember many of the seasons as if it were yesterday, but this season, I do not know any of the contestants names, I do not know the name of the newest judge added to the roster, and while I have been seeing hoo Life is Short…Why Would You Want to Miss a Day?When I heard about ‘Golden Girl’ Bea Arthur passing away on last week (yes, I was an avid ‘Golden Girls’ watcher), I started to think about how precious every moment on this earth is, realizing that I just do not want to miss one single day. I am deviating a bit here from my usual ‘straight’ entertainment writing, and have decided to throw in a bit of life. What Soulja Boy is, is someone that created his own lane, someone that seemingly worked hard to get noticed, realizing that he could not wait on someone to promote him to the record labels, so instead, he concocted a plan for the record labels to come to him through YouTube. While he may not be considered the most talented artist around, he was The Non-Reality of Reality TV…OK, we know that reality TV sucks us into its non-realistic world at one point or another, and it leaves us with the question of how real is reality TV, if everything seems scripted and edited. Yes, I find myself getting caught up in the lives of others that have opted to have the cameras follow them, but then I become a bit baffled at how something that is clearly edited for the cameras, can be called reality. What is our Fascination with Celebrities? If you are anything like me, you do not get thrilled at the thought of meeting a ‘celebrity,’ as I have always felt that we all bleed red blood in the event of our demise, so, to me, we are all of the same. Musicians & Performers: ‘This Is Why Cannot Rely Solely On Social Networking Websites To Make You Famous…’If you are a musician, performer or anyone with a product, you have to look beyond social networking websites, solely, to make you ‘famous.’ It takes a truly collaborative effort to achieve good results. Does not matter how many friends you have – because, after all, are they the right friends? Does The Media Blow Things Out Of Proportion – Do They Really Care About Rihanna & Chris Brown?Being a Person That Has Been in the Media (print, Television and Radio) for About 15 Years, There is One Thing That I Have Learned, and That is That There are Good Journalists, and There are Bad Journalists – There are the Ones That Will Step on Another’s Toes if it Means That it Will Make Their Story That Much More Interesting.
