About KG Stiles ~ Healing Arts Practitioner In professional practice since 1979 KG Stiles is a native of coastal North Carolina and has extensive training in the healing arts. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she began her studies in archetypal psychology, traveling to study at the Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland in 1976. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy & Religion and in 1979 visited the Findhorn Community in Northern Scotland. While at Findhorn she was introduced to hands-on healing and relocated to San Diego, California to train in various bodywork modalities, completing diploma course work at Mueller College of Massage, and an internship in Ida Rolf's 10-sessions of structural integration at the Institute for Psycho-structural Balancing. With over 25,000 hours of hands-on experience her training includes: BodyTalk Certification (Modules 1-4, 6, 7 & 9, Right Brain, PaRama MindCrystals, Breakthrough I & II, and Mindscape), Bowtech Practitioner registered and accredited, certified Aromatherapist, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Craniosacral, Reiki, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Prenatal, Perinatal, and Infant Massage. On sabbatical in 1992-93 KG attended Emerson College in England, a school for Dr. Rudolf Steiner's initiatives. She has experience working in private and clinical settings, and has worked as an organizational director of various massage programs. Her client list has included such notable personalities as cellist Yo-Yo Ma, actress Sela Ward, host of Wall Street Louis Rukeyser, basketball player Charles Barkley, and actor Peter Weller. KG's teaching experience includes: - Assistant Professor National College of Naturopathic Medicine - Instructor of Massage at SOSC Continuing Education - Producer PBS educational television special, Choices in Health Care - Instructor and consultant alternative health care related workshops and retreats since 1980. KG holds state massage licensure in Oregon #2313 and Hawaii #6351, and National Certification for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Her affiliations include professional membership in the American Massage Therapy Association, the International BodyTalk Association, the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy.
