A young girl is institutionalized by her abusive stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the mental facility.

Director Tim Hill certainly believes in setting the bar high for himself. His new Easter-themed fantasy Hop crowns a powerhouse trilogy of revolutionary children's entertainment. Who would have thought he could top both Alvin And The Chipmunks and Garfield: A Tale Of Two Kitties with this master stroke of candy-colored anthropomorphic animal mayhem?

The story of True Grit is an excellent source for a movie adaptation and the Coen Brothers retain the storytelling prowess they've always possessed with their vision of this epic tale of retribution. It still feels like a remake though, with every major event (as well as most of the minor ones) from the 1969 film finding its way into the script.

Twilight: Eclipse, aka the pretentiously titled The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is the third movie in what will be a five film series (the final book, Breaking Dawn, will be split into two movies in order to milk the cash cow as much as possible before it's all over). I was fairly forgiving with my review of the first film, found the second one to be pretty awful, but found this one to almost, sorta be a good movie.

Grown Ups' cast reads like a comedy wet dream/SNL reunion of the late 1990s…plus Kevin James, who gets the fat guy physical role of the late Chris Farley. Despite abysmal trailers, Grown Ups held a glimmer of hope, at least in this reviewer's case, in that its all-star cast could at least cull a few good laughs.

A collection of small moments and awkward interactions, this low-key drama has a home-made feel to it. But it's so rambling and aimless, with characters that aren't particularly likeable, that it's difficult to find much resonance in it.
