A native of Houston, Texas Mark Phillips moved to Amsterdam in 1986, after completing undergraduate studies in religious education in Canada, to work on an M.A. degree in cross-cultural studies at Tyndale Seminary. Following completion of his Master’s degree in 1989 and language studies from Unite D’ Etudes Neerlandaises in Belgium, Mark worked in retail management for nearly 10 years in Amsterdam followed by over 8 years working in The Netherlands and United Kingdom in sales and marketing with companies including Word Entertainment and the Dutch Broadcasting Corporation. Mark re-located from England with Send the Light Ltd. to Georgia in 2005 and worked as Operations Director at STL's southeast distribution facility and as a Project Manager for STL Distribution North America, one of the largest international Christian distribution companies in the world. Mark is married to an Amsterdam native and a father of three children. A citizen of both the U.S and The Netherlands he has traveled extensively in both Eastern and Western Europe. After spending 20 years in Europe Mark returned to the U.S in 2005 and launched his consulting firm, CrossingCulturesConsulting (CCC) in 2007 which is dedicated to help train individuals to get the most out of their cross-cultural experience.
