On May 18, 2010, CBS announced that the series had been cancelled.The series currently airs in syndication on TNT in the U.S.and on Viva in Canada.

Formerly a co-production with the now-defunct Alliance Atlantis Communications, that company's interest in the series is now owned by investment firm GS Capital Partners, an affiliate of Goldman Sachs.CBS Paramount acquired AAC's international distribution rights to the program. The show currently airs Thursdays at 9 pm ET/PT on CBS.

The show was set in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts and in Boston, Massachusetts during the later seasons.
There were initial plans to conclude the series with two special TV movies, but the plans have not come to fruition. How I Met Your Mother is an American situation comedy that premiered on CBS on September 19, 2005. The show was created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. As a framing device, the main character, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor),with narration by Bob Saget, in the year 2030 recounts to his son and daughter the events that led to him meeting their mother, which explains the title and allows for a narration in the past tense.
The Godfather received Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In addition, it is ranked third, behind Citizen Kane, and Casablanca on the AFI's 100 Years…100 Movies list by the American Film Institute. It was moved up to second when the list was published again, in 2008.
