![]() Babuyan Islands: the Philippines Northern ParadiseLike all adventure journeys, our Babuyan island quest has never been that easy. About fourteen hours land trip from Manila to Aparri and four hours boat ride to Camiguin Island. But admit it. There are adventures of the mind just as there are adventures of the body, and summer vacation offers the perfect opportunity to tune up your alternative travel skills and challenge yourself to an on-the-edge adventure experiencing the less traveled part of the archipelago – “The Babuyanes”. ![]() Puerto Galera: Serendipity at Its Finest! For sand and sun lovers, food lovers, party lovers and for people who wants to fall in-love, Puerto Galera gives you the easiest access to a perfect summer getaway. This island is deeply scalloped with snorkeling spots and coves edged in powdery white sand, the islands inviting coastline will give you a charming atmosphere you always dreamed of. ![]() Chico River: Kalinga’s Ultimate Whitewater AdventureThe adventure actually begins last christmas , when Roger Alcantara – a Manila Times photojournalist and myself had to take an almost 12 hours bus ride from the bus terminal in Espana, Manila to get to Tabuk in Kalinga Province. Our bus departure time was 10:15pm and we finally reached Tabuk at around 9:45am with about three stopovers in between, more than enough to urinate and to take a long dreamed coffee break. The best thing about taking long trips at night is you normally fall asleep because you hardly see anything interesting along the road.
