Michael Guy is a composer, pianist and author. He has 33 years experience in piano, keyboard and music composition and education. He was a music theory and composition major in college. He is also an author of one novel, "The Last Renaissance Man" and a song lyric booklet entitled "Across the Sea of Madness." He has a homepage with his recent writings and poetry posted at AuthorsDen.com. His books and CDs are also available there. After so much time in the underground world of music composition, in 2007 he has finally released his debut CD of his piano and digital keyboard compositions. It is entitled AUGUST OCEAN OVERTURE on his own label, JzCDz.com It is an eclectic mix of NewAge, Jazz/Blues and classical Americana pieces which involve much more than just the piano. Many tracks have synthesizer, strings, guitars, bass and drums. It is currently available on iTunes, Amazon and other digital distribution outlets like PayPlay.
He will be releasing his second solo CD of all original compositions in late 2008 entitled, IN MEMORY ONLY, as a memorial for recently deceased parents.
His newest project is composing and recording tracks to be used in forming a new band called "The Abode" - he hopes to again perform and tour clubs by 2010 with this group. It will be a "no holds" barred any style of music used as long as the songs are originals! That includes rock which he played in his pre-college days.
He also spent much time in New York City in the 1980's working in music publishing. Since 1990 when he returned to Florida for a kidney transplant, he has been semi-retired and working in recording, music composition and writing. He says:
