1.0 ABSTRACT This paper discusses the role of financial inclusion in the reduction of poverty and outlines the vision of any country which wishes to reduce poverty using financial inclusiont. It first examines changing views about poverty and the design of poverty alleviation programs, both in Zambia and the developing countries at large. It claims that financial services can play a role in financial inclusion by incorporating the poor in processes of economic growth.
