My Political Pooch - ArticlesMy Political Pooch, a New Jersey based company, was founded by Amy Tavormina in late 2007. The inspiration behind every project My Political Pooch tackles, is Amy’s four-year-old German Shepherd, Sasha. Amy adopted Sasha when she was three months old, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.
It is Sasha’s gentle nature, big personality, and unconditional love that has fueled My Political Pooch from the beginning and continues to do so every day. My Political Pooch was initially begun to raise awareness of current issues affecting the canine world. It quickly evolved from there, however. Amy quickly realized that raising awareness was simply not enough and My Political Pooch found its true calling. With the sale of every piece of MPP merchandise – a donation is made to charity to help solve the issues affecting our pooches. December 2007, My Political Pooch launched its debut line of shirts for dogs. Inspired by the allegations, and later conviction, of NFL star Michael Vick, My Political Pooch’s “Dogs Against Dog Fighting” line became available for purchase. A portion of every sale of the DADF line is donated to the HSUS’ Animal Cruelty and Fighting Campaign.
