Industrial Air Handling Units for Climate Control

Makeup air is vitally important to the health and welfare of a building and its occupants. If the proper amount of makeup air is not introduced into a space, consequences can range from exterior doors that are hard to open or close, to buildups of carbon monoxide in the space, to fume hoods that don't actually control the contaminants they were intended to control. Direct-Fired Gas Industrial Makeup Air Units

Gas-Fired Pressurization Units move large quantities of air at low temperature differentials (usually 50° or less), which is a strategy to minimize temperature stratification in the large spaces they are employed to heat. The equipment is typically mounted on the roof of the facility or at grade on elevated supports to ensure that the supply air is delivered high. The high air delivery allows for a longer “throw” of the air, thereby requiring less equipment to cover the required floor area. Read: Direct-Fired Gas Industrial Makeup Air Units Read

Industrial Air Make-Up Units for Indoor Air Control

It should be noted that demand for recirculating direct gas-fired systems has fallen in recent years. Indoor Air Quality concerns, more stringent regulations passed in recent years, and 2003, new ANSI Standards took effect. Formerly, both recirculating and 100% fresh air units were covered by the same standard. Today, ANSI Z83.4 applies to 100% Fresh Air Units and ANSI Z83.18 applies to Recirculating Units. NISCO Plastic and Fiberglass Blowers and Fans

High-efficiency impellers result in low power consumption, operating costs, and quieter operation. All metal hardware is completely sealed from exposure to corrosion by incapsulating into FRP or plastic; the steel support frame and motor base are powder coated with a corrosion-resistant finish. In addition to being highly resistant to chemical corrosion, PP fans are self-extinguishing and will not support combustion. Read: NISCO Plastic and Fiberglass Blowers and Fans Read

Commercial and Industrial Air Handling Units

Return Air Units are widely used for direct fire space heating applications. They can be supplied with a maximum 80% return/20% fresh air, per ANSI standards. Other options include a 50/50 arrangement. “80/20” Units are configured to modulate from the 80% return/20% fresh air to up to 100% outside or fresh air. 50/50 units are generally designed to switch from 50% return / 50% fresh to 100% fresh, with no modulation between. Air Tight, Zero Leakage Fans and Blowers

Some special materials and alloys frequently used in gas tight fans, especially for service in hazardous, abrasive, corrosive and high temperature environments, include: Corten, ASTM A36 Carbon Steel, Hastelloy, Inconel, Stainless Steels of different kinds, Titanium, Monel, Aluminum, Teflon, Rubber LIning. These materials are typical for industrial applications requiring high strength alloys and super alloys too. Read: Air Tight, Zero Leakage Fans and Blowers Read

Industrial Gas Fired Air Makeup Units

Constant air supply with variable-speed exhaust is recommended where a hot or contaminated environment must be ventilated while maintaining room pressure. Unit may be interlocked to that it only operates with the exhaust system. Variable Air Supply with constant-speed exhaust may be preferred where fume exhausters or fume hoods are used to provide critical ventilation of contaminants from a “clean” environment while make-up air is used to maintain a positive pressure to prevent infiltration Read: Industrial Gas Fired Air Makeup Units Read

High temperature ventilators and blowers for operating up to 2,200 F

NISCO Co. has completely modified its unique line of high temperature fans, ventilators and blowers for industrial applications to 2200 F. This was achived by using extremely high strength stainless steel alloys for the fans impellers, that allow for higher safe speeds at elevated temperatures. Gas Fired Industrial Air Handling Units

Return Air Units are a design that includes a damper to bring room air back into the unit. These re-circulate indoor air through a unit with a minimum of outside air added. This type of unit is able to provide air movement for indoor comfort and reduced temperature stratification, but with a minimum of heat added to the building.
