The Carnelian Gem are a reddish translucent gemstone, that are known as a hard reddish translucent semiprecious stone and is a variety of chalcedony. The carnelian gemstone got its name from the Latin word carnis, because it has the color of flesh. The Carnelians are from the Quartz family, there are found in many different colors like reddish brown to orange. The iron content that has come in contact with these gems are what gives these gemstones there color beautiful colors.

Some people call the Caroline a healing stone, these people have even spelled this stone with an o instead of an a, either way it means the same. There are many people that collect rocks and minerals and there are geologist that are known as expert geologist who do the same. The red chalcedony is a form of quartz, that is known as an translucent or grayish semiprecious stone that is a variety of banded quartz and red agate.

The state where this Kono Dolomite Jade is found is in Marquette County, Michigan and this is where the Jasper inherited it's name from, the Kono Hills, is known as being south of Marquette County, Michigan .
