This is just the tip of the iceberg. Health concerns and litigious matters have yet to play out, so the impact felt in these areas is yet to be seen. Renewable energies rely on sources that are readily available, not those that need to be mined from 5,000 feet below the ocean's surface.

As further exploration of geothermal energy in Australia is conducted, more hot spots are sure to be found and this renewable energy will become method of energy generation for years to come.

Though Australia has lagged a bit in the solar energy industry, these plans in the works will drive them toward the front in the coming years.

As with any renewable energy source, there will be skepticism toward biofuel because it is a relatively new technology. People tend to fear change, but biofuels are a change for the better, in Australia and the rest of the world.

In fact, the company is already in collaboration with Swineburne University of Technology, developing nanoplasmic solar cells. These cells are able to absorb a much larger portion of the light spectrum in sun rays than even those made of crystalline silicon. Suntech has pledged $3 million Australian to the University to further the research.

Australia is gaining ground in the renewable energy market, and is bringing fuel cell technology along for the ride.

Though still relatively new to the biomass game Australia is accelerating its efforts, and plans for renewable energy to account for 20% of its electricity generation by 2020, with biomass accounting for half of this gain.

Because of the relatively cheap installation costs, solar water heating is likely to be preferred route of homeowners partaking of the incentive. Along with governmental incentives and grants, the attraction of the returns presented by solar water heating is sure to spur the United Kingdom's renewable energy efforts further.

Though not as rapid as it was 50 years ago, renewable energy growth found in hydroelectric power will continue in the United Kingdom.

One potential problem in the United Kingdom tied to the proliferation of biomass as a renewable energy source is the abundance of wood chips required to properly maintain the initiatives. The acceleration with which plants have sprouted up throughout the country has put a strain on wood chip supplies in the UK.
