The stop-and-go retrieve is the most effective when searching for bass. Crank the lure down with a very fast retrieve and then stop allowing it to float up.
Conventional thinking tells us that in the fall; the remaining muskie, are large, therefore bigger is better. However, my experience is that smaller baits are often the perfect morsel for that elusive muskie.
Just the idea of battling a huge lake trout lures anglers to all the remote lakes as far north as the Arctic Circle in Canada. These areas yield many 30 to 40 pound lunker lake trout each year.
