I was born with my twin sister in Oxford, England in 1979 at a time when twin births were allowed \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'naturally\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' and the childbirth movement had started. Being forced to lie on your back was starting to be frowned upon and women were learning to use their body\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s more. My mother was always positive about giving birth, saying it was \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"a pain with a great purpose\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve adopted her passion for being pregnant and enjoying the thought of childbirth, and I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m very much looking forward to experiencing it all first hand. I started my body work training back in 2001 straight after I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d finished my Philosophy degree in the UK. I primarily work with women which has led me on to the most joy-filled part of a woman\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s life; pregnancy and childbirth. I support my massage and doula clients not only with touch, but also with the knowledge and wisdom I have gained through some of the worlds most respected teachers in their field. Having completed an advanced specialist course in Pre- & Perinatal Massage Therapy in 2005 with Carole Obourne-Sheets and a Doula course with Dr Michel Odent in 2006, I am at the top of the field in Holistic Maternity Care, being one of only a few advanced specialist of pregnancy, labour and postnatal massage in New Zealand. I take my learning seriously (and joyfully!), and am always reading and looking out for new information to pass on to other women. Because I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t have my own children right now, I am able to offer myself as a doula and tutor without restriction. I hope the information I share with you gives you as much joy and confidence as it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s given me to research and study it. Please do get in contact with me to tell me how the information has helped with your Joyful Childbirth.
