To build a functional hens coop is not that difficult if we can get our hands on a good guidebook that also has excellent hen house plans included. One that takes us by the hand and walk us step-by-step towards building a functional hens coop.

Chickens houses can be simple and still remain functional for the purpose intended. While some would opt to just buy them, or pay a contractor to build chicken houses for them, some others would be adventurous enough to build the hens coop themselves.

Chickens houses can be bought for as little as $500 to a few thousand dollars depending on its design. Some of the ready-made hens house designs can be very attractive. This can make its owner feel proud to own it. More so when family and friends highly compliment the look and design of the hens house.
