    Shorts and Shoes

A while ago a 24-year-old woman was evicted from a large mall in Newport News, Virginia because other mall shoppers complained that the shorts she was wearing were too short. Inappropriate or provocative dressing has become a serious problem throughout the country, and Hollywood deserves a portion of the blame. When it comes to open-toed shoes, we are still in transition. In New York City and Hollywood, it’s a go, but most of my corporate clients tell me they do not want strappy shoes. Read: Shorts and Shoes Read

Fair Treatment for the Fair Haired

Recent research at California State University reveals that the fair-haired are rejected more often for jobs and paid less for top managerial positions. It has a straight, diagonal path leading to the door. Now that’s one way to lead the eye to go to the cottage! However, straight lines can appear rigid and severe. Read: Don't be Square Read

Your Image: the Power of Color

For 23 years I lived in Belgium. It was the best and worst thing that ever happened to my business. It was the worst thing because it is very sad to hear a client say, “I would rather look ugly than wear the colors you are suggesting.” Read: Your Image: the Power of Color Read
