The country’s heritage of rich culture and environment has remained almost completely untainted. Buddhism influences the daily life strongly and like nowhere else, one can experience Living Buddhism in Bhutan.

Bhutan being the Buddhist kingdom and enjoying numerous festivals and has different names according to the types, the best and the biggest event is called “Tsechus”. Tsechus are festivals extolling the great deeds of Guru Rimpoche, taken place on the 10th day of the month, which is meaning the word Tsechu.

Sakteng is an isolated valley on the north-eastern corner of Bhutan. Sakteng lies today as it did centuries ago - wild, unspoiled, and breathtakingly beautiful. The "Brokpas" call Sakteng home. Their Language is more closely related to the Hill Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar (Burma). These Tribes spread though the Himalayas down from the Tibetan plateaus as far as South East Asia avoiding the bigger societies of China Tibet and India.
