Action and Speed Create ResultsTaking action with speed sets successful entrepreneurs apart from those that dawdle, and therefore stay in mediocrity. Small business owners and entrepreneurs have the edge in this regard. They can take action with speed, because they, unlike many larger organisations, can decide quickly and then move forward... Create a Powerful Driving Question to Improve your ResultsMuch of the email received at this time of year is about making the next year even better than the last.
My tips include: Review last year; Unclutter; Step back; Create your goals.
In addition, by finding your driving question and creating a more powerful one related to your purpose, vision and mission, you will be more motivated to take action. You will be less likely to procrastinate or hesitate and you will therefore be much better placed to achieve what it is you say you want to achieve
Review last year – Review the results from last year and take the learnings.
Unclutter – Get rid of the unnecessary clutter in your life.
Step back – Give yourself some thinking time and ask questions.
Create your goals – Plan what you want to achieve and set goals in several areas.
In addition to these tips, establish your current driving question Making Time for MeMany people complain that they don’t have enough time to do all the things they say they want to do. There are always so many other priorities to consider and demands from others that get in the way. Then we spend our time exhausted and frustrated that we haven’t achieved what we want.
Ultimately though we all have the same 24 hours each day and the real issue is how we manage ourselves to create the space we want for us.
There is a whole industry built around time management, from the every day paper based diary to electronic organisers, training and workshops, sophisticated software solutions and even coaches that can help you “de-clutter”.
There are however, four very straightforward ways to create all the time we need and keep it simple. Find out more in “Making Time for Me!” Build your Business - be of ServiceBuilding relationships in business is no different to building relationships with our partner, friends, parents, children or any one we encounter in life. The most powerful relationships are created when we come from a place of “being of service”. By asking “what do you want or need from me” we are practicing the art of “seeking first to be of service” before we can then say “I would like this or that”.
In business, if we seek first to be of service, we are better placed to ask for the sale or the supplier support because we have “created the relationship” first… The Power of TeamCompleting the London Marathon is challenging enough for the fittest of people. Getting through it with no training, due to the physical and emotional turmoil prior to the event, seemed impossible. With the support of those around you, anything can be achieved and yet, there are times when you want to just be with yourself and your thoughts, despite the challenge ahead. This was the case when I chose to remove myself from the support available climbing the mountain known as “terrible – no beauty”; Ben Nevis. The “team” got me through the London Marathon, the “team” was not present on the mountain. You can never underestimate the “Power of Team” to get you to the finish line…
